Georgia’s jump in the rankings was possible due to the losses from the top two teams last week, Alabama and Miami, which fell to Nos. 5 and 7, respectively.
Auburn, which is the team that managed to beat Alabama, moved up to No. 2 and is set to face Georgia again in this weekend’s SEC Championship game.
Georgia’s only loss this year was to Auburn by a score of 40-17.

As for Clemson, the team moved up to No. 1 after beating South Carolina 34-10, while Oklahoma moved up to No. 3 and Wisconsin moved up to No. 4.
Other SEC teams that are ranked in the top 25 include No. 17 LSU and No. 23 Mississippi State.
The SEC championship is most likely a play-in game for the College Football Playoff. This means that the ranking that matters will come out next week.
